River Lanes’ brightly-lit arcade is jam-packed with all of the newest games, along with some old favorites.
Pin Bowling are a first welcome as you walk through the door. Just inside, a pulsing arcade is filled with the sights and sounds of popular games, and beyond are pool tables, darts, cornhole, foosball, and 17 televi- sions. That alone is enough to keep you hopping for at least a day or two. Add to those a private party room for birthday parties and family gatherings, a full res- taurant serving up all of your favorites, and a full bar, and you may find yourself there for literally hours on end. I really didn’t want to leave. Ever.
Adrienne offered, “Yes, this is a great place for kids, but let’s not forget adults! We also cater adult events and parties in our private party rooms, and have a full bar and restaurant. Adults come and enjoy a night of dining and drinks while playing pool, darts, foosball or just watching sports on TV.”
They also offer live entertainment by local bands on many weekend nights, because nothing brightens up
a chilly winter evening like some homegrown tunes. Who knows, you may even catch the infamous Ball Brothers if you’re lucky enough! In the summer, you can gather around outdoor picnic tables, or try to best your buddies at their horseshoe pits.
With COVID-19 restrictions in place, River Lanes is asking that folks call ahead (705-9500), to reserve a spot at the bowling alley. Walk-ins are okay, too, but there just might be a wait involved if you don’t have reserva- tions. So there you have it – a perfect “starter pack” for your next gambado. Just remember to keep your ears open and your eyes peeled. I am willing to wager that dur- ing these meanderings here in your back yard, your own internal wheels will start turning, and you’ll be scheming some brand new capers of your own, all in this very place we call home. ✶
