World Record. Help Rangeley beat the world record largest snowmobile ride with this great event that benefits Cystic Fibrosis. Start at Bald Mountain Camps, Oquossoc, on beautiful Mooselookmeguntic Lake at 1pm. Get there before noon to line up and join the cause. $10 donation (decal for your sled) to participate in the ride. Snowshoe Festival. Western Foothills Land Trust. 10am- 2pm. WF Tubbs 2K, 5K, 10K Snowshoe Races 10-11am. Distances for all ages and abilities -- a 2K for those who prefer their races to be short and sweet, a 5K for those who want a bit of a challenge, and a 10K course for those who want to push themselves. on the day of the race. Next, Hortense Gates Snowshoe Fashion Parade 11am-12pm. Gather at Roberts Farm at 11am to get dressed and ready to “model” your outfits at 1pm. Model your own “winter costume,” or wear one of ours. Prizes for most historic, most creative, youngest, oldest,and family group. Then, Family Snowshoe Games, 12-1pm. Kids and kids at heart are welcome to join in a series of snowshoe games during this annual festival. Three-legged 100-yard dash, musical chairs, egg and spoon, pulk pull, and more.
