1 Light Up Main Street Jingle Walk. Join Santa and Mrs. Claus in Bethel and watch Main Street businesses light up one-by-one as carolers walk up Main Street towards the town common to light the Christmas tree. Santa will accompany the parade on a firetruck! Meet at Philbrook Place by 3:45pm to participate. Tree lighting on the com- mon will take place at approximately 4:45pm with photo op with Santa afterward back at Philbrook Place
1 Christmas at the Mason House. Museums of the Bethel Historical Society. Celebrate the season with traditional holiday refreshments, 19th century style decorations, and live music in the first floor period rooms of the 1813 Dr. Moses Mason House. 9 Walk To Bethlehem. Annual Pageant sponsored by the Rangeley Friends of the Arts. Recreates Mary and Joseph’s journey to Bethlehem. Begins at the Rangeley Inn at 5:30pm with the reading of Caesar Augustus’ decree
that all people must return to the city of their birth. Then join the “Walk” through the village of Rangeley, led
by community members costumed as nativity figures. Carols are sung as the procession meanders through the village, stopping at the different downtown churches for a carol. When the Walkers reach the Church of the Good Shepherd, they join others in anticipation of the evening’s program: a traditional family-oriented Christmas presentation of carols, classical music, dance, and drama. The program begins at approximately 6:00pm. The finale is a traditional nativity pageant with many local young people and community members in full costumes.
